Laminate Flooring Working Backwards

Occasionally i would see another installer on the job site installing a laminate floor.
Laminate flooring working backwards. Sub floors are typically concrete or cement and develop weaknesses over time. I worked in a lot of new construction houses. Products with higher warranties mean better quality and longer life. Avoid cheap laminate flooring.
Laminate floor systems do not function well on uneven surfaces. Laminate flooring can t be refinished the way real wood can so once it s worn out it ll have to be replaced. If you place laminate flooring on a weak or uneven sub floor the new floor will be compromised and eventually buckle damage the laminate locking system creak or create micro gaps in the new floor. Before this i never did it before.
Back in early 2003 i installed my first ever laminate floor. I was installing mostly carpet an vinyl flooring. Subfloor seams are the usual suspects. It can double or triple the time to install when working backwards and be prepared for twice the waste when working backwards.
A click together floor especially vinyl because it is thin and the click systems are vulnerable to damage can be very difficult to lay in the wrong direction. Crawl around with a straightedge to find any areas that are more than 1 8 inch high or low.
