I cannot believe i have lived in alberta for. The trail begins from the parking. The trail follows tokumm creek which created marble canyon by cutting and carving it s way through the rock. The surrounding landscape is shaped by fire erosion and mountains.
We walked it as more of a kayak scouting expedition than anything else. The marble canyon hike is as unique an experience you will get in kootenay national park and is an amazing place to bring the kids. This hike is easily accessible for anyone wishing to get out and enjoy the beauty and power of nature. The hike is an easy 1 mile 1 6 km out and back trail suitable for all skill levels with fencing along most areas.
There was a 1 5 km looped trail leading alongside the canyon and over a series of foot bridges with some inclines on the way up but still an easy trail. I stopped here on september 24 2020. Make a visit here in august when the the fireweed is at its prime lining the forest floors with a beautiful pink and purple. Marble canyon is a beautiful place to visit in kootenay.
This is a really beautiful area and a nice easy walk for the family with some beautiful scenery to go along with it.
